Job Description

- Lead the enrolment reporting process for Ontario Tech, including Ministry reporting, tracking reports and conversion reporting.
- Ensure IT alignment and maintain proper records to satisfy any public external audit of our enrolment grants.
- Maintain the tracking of pathway students through the pathway database.
- Maintain the experiential learning database and reporting for the institution.
- Maintain the student retention database and reporting for the institution.
- Contribute to both Strategic Mandate Agreement (SMA) metrics and internal KPI metrics
- Respond to data requests from internal and external stakeholders. Including initiating and conducting dialogue with stakeholder to understand data requirements, which are often complex.
- Build and streamline reports in Cognos.
- Compile data into reports, explain and interpret the results.
- Define approach and methodology used to collect data.
- Participate in committees and task forces.
- Translate data and analysis for faculty, staff and senior leadership to make informed decisions. .
- Extensive experience in database, spreadsheet and statistical software/systems manipulating large amounts of data is required.
- Demonstrated experience in data base techniques such as SQL as well as understand the capabilities and constraints of the information technology environment.
- Experience with an integrated enterprise management software system (Cognos BI) is preferred, as is experience in a post-secondary institution.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills including report writing and presentation skills, effective interpersonal skills, discretion, tact and diplomacy.
- Required to have experience starting a project and seeing it through to completion.
- Completion of a University Program consisting of four academic years or equivalent.
- over 3 years experience in an area related to data management, computer programming or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Summary:
To support the university's institutional research agenda through data management, computer programming, and development of data information references. To work with stakeholders to standardize, collect and report on a wide range of data related to university activities.
Nature of work:
To provide administration and faculty with consistent and accurate data in order to facilitate planning, policy formation and decision making.
