St. Jude's Regional Catholic School in Rockville Maryland is hiring an Instructional Aide for the 2025-26 school year.
This is a full time role and will report to the Principal.
This hourly pay rate for this position is $17.15 with outstanding benefits.
St. Jude's is the home of Golden Apple Teachers with strong Catholic foundations and a strong community.The Catholic Elementary School Teacher Assistant assists the classroom teacher in delivering instruction that is based on the approved curricula and mission of the school and to create a safe, orderly and Catholic learning environment for his/her students.

SJRCS is seeking a teaching assistant in our lower school. This teacher would assist the lead teacher with language arts, math, science, social studies and religion. The assistant would report to the lead teacher, principal and assistant principal while being an integral part of the lower school faculty team serving in an advisory capacity to the administration for the school’s policies, philosophy, organization, and curriculum.
Responsibilities:
● Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of SJRCS.
● Collaborate with the lower schoolteachers and resource teacher to establish a consistent foundation for learning.
● Support the lead teacher with classroom routines, make copies, decorate bulletin boards, display student work, grade homework, deliver instruction to small groups of students.
● Practice positive, consistent discipline in the classroom.
● Help organize and attend field trips.
● Have positive communication with parents.
● Attend weekly faculty and team meetings.
Skills required:
● Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church.
● Support subjects taught, instructional methods and strategies, and curriculum differentiation.
● Knowledge of child development, learning, and behavior specific to elementary school grade levels. The teacher will have the ability to manage student behavior in the classroom setting.
● Skill in pacing and differentiating instruction. The assistant will have the ability to respond to individual learning needs.
● Skill in motivating and engaging students in the learning process.
● Skill in collaborating with peers to enhance the work environment and support instructional planning across the curriculum.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Associates degree
• Experience working with young children
• Patience and flexibility with young children
