Purpose of the Position:

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Global Customer Education & Success, the Instructional Design Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering adoption materials for SMART Education Core products. They will create industry-leading resources for educators, including multimedia, e-learning, and print-based materials. The role focuses on developing learning pathways that empower educators to implement SMART products effectively and achieve a return on investment. The Instructional Design Specialist will ensure training initiatives are scalable and adaptable to meet the organization’s evolving needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Support strategic planning to create a differentiated SMART training offering.
• Collaborate with product & marketing teams to align content with key releases.
• Launch and pan multimedia learning pathways and coursework for educators
• Develop and manage video content strategy for the YouTube Learning Channel.
• Regionalize training resources ensuring content is suitable for the Rest of World regions.

Adoption Resource Development:

• Create just-in-time training materials highlighting instructional best practices
• Simplify complex product features into easy-to-use, real-time teaching applications.
• Ensure all content meets SMART’s brand guidelines for quality, accessibility
• Plan, design, edit, develop, update, and improve new and existing training materials to enhance online self-serve resources.
• Design and align resources that demonstrate the instructional value while fostering the adoption of SMART hardware and software by end users.

Content Management & System Administration:

• Oversee the course work and regionalization of The Academy ensuring seamless delivery and tracking of e-learning.
• Launch & manage multimedia adoption assets based on feedback and industry standards for maximum relevance in education.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to localize adoption materials and resources for global markets, ensuring relevance to diverse business environments.

Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:

• Develop assessments and surveys to evaluate effectiveness of adoption materials
• Innovate adoption approaches to boost customer engagement, satisfaction and return on investment.
• Continuously enhance the appearance, usability, and functionality of The Academy (LMS) and related systems to optimize customer support and satisfaction.

Skills & Experience:

• Instructional Design: Experience in creating resources tailored to educators, applying adult learning (andragogy) principles to ensure practical application in business scenarios.
• Education Professional Development Expertise: Proven track record of delivering professional development for educators in ed tech.
• Technology Proficiency: Strong proficiency in using software such as Learn Dash, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, multimedia tools. Experience with video production tools like Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
• Content Management & Delivery: Experience managing Learning Management Systems (LMS) or PDMS, ensuring smooth delivery and tracking of online learning programs. Experience with CRM systems is a valued asset.
• Communication & Presentation: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into practical applications for business professionals.

Education:

• Degree in Instructional Design
• 3 Years classroom experience
• Seniority: Mid-Senior Level

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required for business commitments.
• A valid passport and driver’s license are required.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, managing multiple priorities with limited supervision.
