    • Creates tutoring schedules for in-person and virtual students that correlates with master schedules.
    • Communicates effectively with building administrators, teachers, curriculum departments, and senior-level division staff members.
    • Evaluates program needs using a data driven approach to increase student outcomes, facilitate the allocation of resources, and grow the program.
    • Collaborates across departments to analyze student achievement data for all tutoring initiatives to guide next steps
    • Designs dynamic digital learning lessons to a variety of audiences, primarily students in grades K-5. This also includes teachers of all content areas and grade levels, curriculum leaders, teacher specialists, and administrators.
    • Designs and presents engaging professional development in online, blended, and face-to-face environments using adult learning theory.
    • Completes virtual enrollment for students as needed.
    • Researches, evaluates, and recommends the effective use of available software/hardware to enhance curriculum integration.
    • Works with curriculum leaders and teacher specialists to support the online curriculum management system.
    • Works to ensure legal and ethical standards are used in relation to copyright laws, school policies, and the use of technology.
    • Possesses leadership and problem-solving skills and determination needed for working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
    • Seeks out a variety of professional development opportunities, both digital and otherwise, for self and uses those opportunities to develop others.
    • Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
    • Complies with and supports school and division regulations and policies.
    • Perform related duties as assigned in accordance with the school/system policies and practices.
    • Hold a valid Professional Virginia teaching license. Preferred: Graduate Degree in Educational Leadership, Instructional Technology or equivalent experience.
    • Has a minimum of three years of successful full-time teaching experience.
    • Demonstrates proficiency in HCS software programs (specifically all Google apps), iPad apps, and technology tools.
    • Possesses a strong foundation in curriculum development (especially Understanding by Design) and project-based learning.
    • Demonstrates the ability to be well organized and coordinate scheduling with multiple stakeholders
    • Possesses an aptitude for integrating digital learning lessons into curriculum.
    • Possesses the ability to design and deliver engaging and relevant professional development.
    • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrates interpersonal and leadership skills.
    • Uses a team approach and collaboration to accomplish tasks.
    • Is a self-directed worker capable of setting and effectively meeting long-term and short-term goals.
    • Has personal characteristics conducive to working effectively with students, teachers, school personnel, parents, and community groups in a PreK-12 setting.

      Employment Status: Full-time, grant-funded
      Pay Grade: Teacher scale (12-month)
      Start Date: 24/25 school year


      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      The Instructional Design Specialist is an in-person, grant-funded position. This position will mainly be responsible for the coordination of the all-in tutoring program. The specialist works with a variety of schools at the elementary school level and collaborates with all departments to effectively infuse virtual tutoring into the in-person classrooms.
