      Position Details:

      The Instructional Designer in the Learning Innovations team is responsible for consulting with instructors in the design and development of successful classroom, online, hybrid, distance, synchronous and asynchronous instruction, based upon best practices and sound pedagogy; supporting instructors and graduate students in the delivery and maintenance of these courses; investigating technologies and practices that enable effective methods of instruction; training and supporting faculty in the effective and efficient use of instructional technology. This position requires excellent communication skills for interfacing with faculty on a regular basis and the ability to translate technological concepts into easy to understand format.

      This is a remote/telework position with the successful candidate needing to meet WSU's technical system requirements for working remotely.


      Required Qualifications:

      • A Master’s degree and two (2) years of professional experience that has included designing and facilitating learning opportunities for diverse groups, educational assessment, maintaining learning environments and communities (may or may not be technology enhanced), and best practices in teaching and learning; or equivalent combination of education and experience in related areas.


      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Demonstrated experience with training development and delivery, instructional support programs, and instructional design.

      • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Academic Technology, Higher education or related field.

      • Experience with Instructional Design and application of Academic Technologies in a higher education setting.

      • Experience teaching in higher education.

      • Knowledge and understanding of Universal Design for Learning ( UDL ).

      • Knowledge and understanding of Inclusive Pedagogy.

      Telework positions will require signing a telework agreement. Minimum technical requirements include an internet bandwidth of 4.0 Mbps for upload and download.       In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
