      About the role

      The Instructional Designer, reporting to the Delivery Team Manager as part of the Talent Management organization, partners closely with project team members, subject-matter experts, leaders, and cross-functional project teams to integrate learning solutions as the business rapidly moves forward. The Instructional Designer is a contributor to various project teams, and owns design and delivery of learning solutions to ensure our employees have an exceptional learning experience.

      You will get to:

      • Apply human-centered design principles and contemporary methods of adult learning theory to design and develop high-quality, learning solutions (courses, videos, job aids, and other training resources)

      • Collaborate with Program Managers, Program Operations Leads, trainers, and subject matter experts to understand project objectives, conduct needs analysis, and align solution documents (learning plans, instructional plans, storyboards, etc.)

      • Design and develop assessments and evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of training programs and make data-driven improvements

      • Utilize industry-standard authoring tools, multimedia software, and AI tools to create interactive and visually appealing learning content

      • Participate in cross-functional project teams to support a wide variety of business lines and create learning solutions for employees across Zillow Group

      • Write observable, measurable, and relevant learning objectives

      • Apply human-centered design principles to reimagine and improve the learner experience and enhance knowledge retention

      • Create engaging learning materials, such as presentations, virtual learning solutions, learner guides, facilitator guides, leader guides and toolkits, assessments, and videos

      • Develop effective instructional exercises and assessments that support the desired learning outcomes and objectives

      • Adhere to accessibility standards and Talent Management design standards

      • Update, curate, and maintain learning content

      • Handle multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality training materials

      • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and standard methodologies in learning and development, incorporating innovative approaches to enhance program effectiveness

      • Complete small project requests that are in-scope, but do not need the support of a full project team

      This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.

      In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington the standard base pay range for this role is $81,600.00 - $130,400.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.

      In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

      Who you are

      • You show strength in Google Suite, AI tools, Articulate 360, Camtasia, Vyond, Adobe Creative Cloud, or equivalent rapid eLearning and video creation tools

      • You have proficiency in audio editing using tools such as Audacity or Audition

      • You have intermediate proficiency in visual design programs such as Photoshop, Dreamweaver, or Illustrator

      • You have intermediate experience publishing and tracking eLearning SCORM or Tin Can-compliant courses in a Learning Management System

      • You have experience creating scripts, providing voiceovers, and creating closed captions for videos

      • You are skilled in developing prototypes and storyboards

      • You can modify vector graphics and create light artwork when necessary

      • You are an exceptional collaborator who prioritizes teamwork

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education technology, or related field

      • 3 years' experience in a learning or talent development role

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

      • Excellent knowledge and application of adult learning theories and instructional design models

      • Experience in publishing and tracking eLearning courses in a Learning Management System

      • Proficient in video and audio production, graphic design, and facilitating meetings in Zoom or other platforms

      • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment

      • Collaborative and entrepreneurial mentality
