      Job Description:

      The University of Florida College of Nursing (CON) is seeking an Instructional Designer III to be responsible for leading innovative, technology-driven enhancements to curriculum and educational materials. This includes designing, developing, and implementing competency-based and technology-integrated learning experiences, as well as creating and editing multimedia content such as videos and graphics. The position provides expertise in instructional design, media production, and emerging technologies to support faculty, staff, and students in achieving educational excellence.

      Responsibilities include:

      Innovative Curriculum and Course Design

      • Collaborate with faculty and administrators to design competency-based, technology-enhanced courses for didactic, online, and hybrid formats.
      • Leverage UF's learning management system (Canvas) and other integrated platforms (e.g., myUFL) to deliver innovative learning experiences.
      • Evaluate and enhance instructional materials to meet quality standards (e.g., Quality Matters, UF Standards & Markers of Excellence).
      • Integrate emerging instructional technologies to support active and engaging learning experinces.
      • Develop and implement design principles, course templates, and compliance-focused instructional materials.

      Faculty, Staff, and Student Training and Support

      • Provide hands-on training and workshops for faculty, staff, and students on learning technologies and platforms, including Canvas, Zoom, PlayPosit, and other third-party tools.
      • Offer timely support for resolving technical and course-related issues through various communication methods.
      • Train stakeholders in video production tools and lecture capture technologies (e.g., MediaSite Mosaic, PowerPoint).
      • Guide faculty in designing and producing educational materials that align with course objectives and institutional standards.

      Exam Delivery and Support:

      • Manage the electronic delivery of exams across all course formats using platforms such as ExamSoft, Honorlock, and ProctorU.
      • Assist students and faculty with exam-related technical issues during exams.
      • Collaborate with student affairs staff to ensure accommodations for students are properly implemented.

      Instructional Media Production and Maintenance

      • Create and integrate original multimedia teaching materials, including videography, photography, and interactive content.
      • Produce and edit high-quality training and educational videos.
      • Maintain and ensure proper use of electronic equipment, such as video cameras, AV systems, and classroom response systems.
      • Develop new educational media to support innovative instructional goals

      Supervision and leadership

      • Help build instructional design team including assisting in the creation of new ID positions
      • supervise current ID team and future additions

      Expected Salary:

      $75,000 - $85,000 annually

      Minimum Requirements:

      Master's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience.

      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Master’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, or related field.
      • Certifications in instructional design, media production, or related areas (e.g., Certified Professional in Learning and Performance - CPLP, Certified Instructional Designer).
      • Advanced proficiency in multimedia editing software (e.g., Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite).
      • Demonstrated expertise in competency-based education and curriculum innovation.
      • Knowledge of exam delivery platforms (e.g., ExamSoft, ProctorU).
