      • Work a hybrid schedule with 3 days in-office.

      POSITION PURPOSE:

      USOSM is seeking a creative and collaborative Instructional Designer to join our Learning & Development Team. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to function as both a consultant to the business and a hands-on developer of learning solutions (eLearning courses, Onboarding Guides, job aids, a Podcast, and Programs) that drive organizational performance and support professional growth across the organization. The role also acts as the learning management system (LMS) administrator.

      PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

      • Manages the curriculum development life cycle from identification of requirements, design and development to implementation and evaluation.
      • Designs learning solutions, using Articulate, Camtasia, and other software, and develops learning in the form of eLearning, job aids, programs, and creates supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games, etc.)
      • Ability to gain buy in from SMEs, through drafting, storyboarding, of training.
      • Develops learning content to ensure a consistent training experience that directly improves the employee experience.
      • Partners with Subject Matter Experts and delivers solutions to all levels of the organization.
      • Devises modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of each course
      • Develops appropriate evaluation techniques to measure impact and success of all training curriculum developed.
      • Leverages strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects to ensure the attainment of project deliverables and timelines.
      • Manages and maintains content and programs within a learning management system and vendor learning portals.
      • Consult, analyze, and develop highly engaging and interactive learning solutions.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

      Basic Knowledge & Competencies:

      • Knowledge of adult learning principles, facilitation, and learner-centered activities
      • Proficiency with Articulate, Camtasia, and multimedia design. Knowledge of learning management systems and virtual learning platforms i.e., Teams, Zoom.
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Network Drives: OneDrive, SharePoint.
      • Superior consulting, and communication skills. Ability to establish relationships with diverse customers, including business owners.
      • Experience designing, developing, and delivering emerging learning solutions including gamification, video, micro-learning, and simulations (preferred)
      • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio, and video scripts.
      • Highly adaptable in ambiguous environments and situations
      • Excellent Customer Service and multi-tasking skills
      • Outstanding communication skills

      Previous Experience/Education:

      • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Instructional Design or Training Development.
      • Proficient in multiple learning technologies – e.g., Captivate, Articulate.
      • 8+ years of current experience in adult learning with an instructional design background strongly preferred.

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

      • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
      • Frequent use of hands to manipulate the keyboard, telephone, files, and other equipment.
      • Ability to lift up to ten (10) pounds.
