      INSTRUCTIONAL PARAPROFESSIONAL

      Runyon Elementary is looking for a qualified candidate to join our team as an Instructional Paraprofessional. This professional will be responsible for providing individual and/or small group instruction and implementing strategies to general education students, with support of licensed staff within the school environment (e.g. Classroom, Cafeteria, Playground, Community, etc.). The ideal candidate is strong in making independent decisions within appropriate parameters; monitoring and supporting students during school activities (lunch & recess); preparing and modifying instructional materials; maintaining student confidentiality and adapting to changes in responsibilities and schedules.

      Essential Duties:
      • Assist students in the completion of assignments as appropriate
      • Oversee students as they work independently or in groups, in the classroom, resource area/lab or other designated areas
      • Process and organize books, instructional resources and other equipment for staff and student use
      • Assist teachers in the preparation of instructional materials

      Education/Certifications:
      • High School Diploma or equivalent
      • Two years of post-secondary study and Associate’s degree or higher preferred
      • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to assist in instruction in reading, writing, math or school-readiness skills
      • One year experience working with students preferred
      • Criminal background check required for hire
      6.5 hours/day
      STARTING SALARY: Grade 4, $19.41/hour - Classified Salary Schedule

      WORK YEAR: 180 contract days Classified calendar
