      Primary Purpose To facilitate student academics and functional skills through direct coaching, consultation and providing professional learning opportunities to teachers of students that receive special education services. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD. Qualifications Education/Certification/Licensure Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university Texas Special Education certification Special Knowledge/Skills Positive and productive communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of statewide assessment Knowledge of general education curriculum and instruction Knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee process and Individual Education Plans (IEPs) goal setting and implementation Knowledge of curriculum designed at a prerequisite skill level Ability to incorporate behavior principles in positive, proactive, and instructional ways Demonstrated expertise in the following areas: Instructional strategies and best practices Effective instruction for diverse learners Data interpretation Professional learning creation and delivery Experience Minimum of 3 years special education teaching experience Major Responsibilities and Duties Provide consultation to district alternative academics classes. Provide consultation to campus staff working with students in AA classes. Assist in development of IEP’s. Provide consultation to campus staff in the decision making process for students’ who receive extended school year services. Assist in preparation for ARD meetings for students in AA classes. Provide consultation in ARD meetings as assigned by ESC special education staff. Provide coordination between sending and receiving campuses of transferring students. Provide demonstration lessons and modeling of specialized instruction in the special education and general education classroom. Accompany assigned teachers to visit other special education classrooms/services to observe successful practices. Meeting with individuals and teams of teachers to support the planning and delivery of effective specialized instruction at the prerequisite level to meet the needs of all learners. Develop appropriate teaching/learning strategies and classroom designs. Maintain a log of activities. Provide professional learning opportunities for campus staff. Provide required training to campus staff on time-out, restraint, and positive behavioral supports. Provide instructional support for teachers. Assist campus staff with curriculum recommendations. Assist campus staff with statewide assessment recommendations. Uphold federal and state guidelines, school board policies, and procedures. Participate in district professional learning opportunities. Assist in conducting professional learning opportunities when requested. Attend workshops and conferences outside the district. Uphold and adhere to federal and state guidelines, school board policies, and district administrative procedures. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal). Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities. Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings. Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal). Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
