Job Description

- Analyze and address technical and functional questions related to the LMS and integrated tools;
- Promote best practices in accessibility, referring to ADA and WCAG standards;
- Contribute to an expanding knowledge base of documentation, pro tips, case studies, and other supporting resources;
- Collaborate with the rest of our team to build custom sites, templates, and apps inside and outside the LMS, to support courses and other academic requirements;

- A master’s degree or other advanced degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or a related field;
- Familiarity and experience with other digital tools for teaching and learning, such as Gradescope, Hypothesis, Kaltura, Microsoft 365, Piazza, VoiceThread, and Zoom;
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency with project management applications, such as Jira.

UVA's Learning Technology Services (LTS) team is seeking an Instructional Technologist to join us in providing technical support for UVA’s central Learning Management System (LMS), UVACanvas, and other digital tools for teaching and learning.
In this role, you’ll be a vital resource for instructors and students, drawing upon your experience to:
You’ll also be a key member of UVA’s larger instructional support community. There will be opportunities to contribute to strategic groups and projects that involve faculty, staff, and students from across UVA and other institutions, including the University Teaching and Learning Technology Committee and the Canvas R1 Peers Community.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
Experience: 5 years.
Licensure: None.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.Preferably, you’ll bring some of these qualities as well:
This is a full-time position, potentially eligible for a remote or hybrid work model. The expected starting salary range is $65,000 to $78,000, commensurate with experience.
