      Instructional Technology Support (ITS)

      Job Description

      The Instructional Technology Support (ITS) will collaborate with teachers to successfully integrate technology and content objectives, as well as plan, design and deliver technology integration staff development. The ITS will provide online resources for instructional use and assist district administration with the development and implementation of the district technology plan.

      Qualifications

      Education/Certification:

      • Bachelor's Degree
      • Master's Degree (preferred)
      • Valid Texas teaching certificate

      Experience:

      • Three years of successful experience as a classroom teacher
      • Two years experience integrating technology to enhance teaching and learning in the classroom

      Special Knowledge and Skills:

      • Ability to design and deliver staff development for adult learners
      • Strong communication, organizational, public relations and interpersonal skills
      • Knowledge of curriculum, instruction and the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)
      • Knowledge of computer software applications
      • Knowledge of web page design and management
      • Ability to effectively communicate using electronic mail
      • Knowledge of computer hardware and computer networks
      • Ability to disaggregate assessment data
      • Working knowledge of Skyward
      • Working knowledge of account management

      Major Responsibilities and Duties:

      • Plan, design, and monitor instructional technology materials for K-12 academic subjects, software products, and other areas assigned.
      • Provide staff development/mentoring to include use of computer software applications and the integration of technology and content objectives.
      • Provide effective instructional strategies, resources and materials to teachers for the successful integration of technology in the classroom.
      • Model effective uses of instructional technology in the classroom for teachers and students.
      • Model high yield teaching strategies in the classroom with students that integrate technology and content objectives.
      • Assist teachers in planning and developing interdisciplinary units that integrate technology and support content objectives.
      • Adhere to and provide appropriate training support for staff and students on internet use, copyright law, and district’s Acceptable Use Guidelines (AUG).
      • Make connections between current educational research, student learning styles, curriculum content objectives and technology tools.
      • Collaborate with principals, teacher leaders and campus/district committees regarding planning support for technology equipment/materials and new initiatives/programs.
      • Provide staff development to campus/district staff on integration of technology in instructional setting.
      • Provide online resources for instructional use.
      • Provide training and support to campus/district staff on the use of the district’s curriculum management system and its integral components.
      • Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
      • Comply with all District and campus routines and regulations.
      • Oversee ordering, inventories and recycling of all district instructional materials including textbooks.

      The District contributes $400/month to the cost of employee only health insurance, which is $175/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.

      Assignment: 11 Duty Months (210 Days)

      Pay Grade: Professional, PG3

      Minimum: $68,727

      Midpoint: $81,871

      Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

      • Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
      • Motion: Frequent walking
      • Lifting: Frequent light lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling (less than 15 pounds); occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling (up to 50 pounds)
      • Environment: Work inside and outside, regular exposure to noise and the elements
      • Mental Demands: Maintain control under stress
