      Other Conditions: General funds to begin approximately December 2024, contingent on satisfactory performance, operational and program needs, actual staffing requirements, and availability of funds. Position may be converted from 11-month to 9-month or 9-month to 11-month as required by operational needs.

      Duties and Responsibilities

      1. Under the direction of the Head Librarian and in collaboration with other librarians and library staff, this position uses best practices to manage and support the life cycle of the library’s electronic resources and services, including reviewing and negotiating license agreements, coordinating trials, assessment of resources, and access and maintenance of resources.
      2. Manage metadata of electronic resources and collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient discovery and access to data and library electronic resources.
      3. Coordinate on- and off-campus access to online research materials, including configuring, testing, and troubleshooting electronic resources and administering the library's EZProxy settings.
      4. Manage the configuration of Honolulu CC Library's instance of the University of Hawai'i Libraries services platform, currently PRIMO VE and Alma.
      5. Collect, maintain, and disseminate usage statistics and reports, including conducting and analyzing the annual online library survey.
      6. Manage the library's website, including creating and editing textual and graphical content.
      7. Administer the LibGuides CMS system settings, groups, and accounts.
      8. Provide general and specialized reference and instruction to library users for both face-to-face and distance learning courses.
      9. Create online research guides, tutorials, and other materials to facilitate access to information and use of the Library.
      10. Proficient experience in the use of HTML and CSS and experience in creating ADA-compliant web content.
      11. Participate in collection management including selection, purchasing, development, and weeding of library collections.
      12. Participate and contribute to program review, service area assessment, and data collection for planning purposes.
      13. Participate and serve on System-wide, UH libraries consortium, and College committees, working groups, and task forces in support of the College's mission.
      14. Support the development and implementation of strategies for the campus's OER initiatives.
      15. Manage and maintain the campus digital repository and the physical archive.
      16. Pursue professional development opportunities and keep current with emerging issues in libraries and technology.
      17. Be available for evening and weekend hours, and off-campus assignments.
      18. Perform other duties as assigned.
      Minimum Qualifications
      1. Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLS/MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution.
      2. Minimum qualifications must be met by the effective date of appointment. If qualified applicants are not available, others will be considered as acting instructor.
      Desirable Qualifications
      1. Experience with electronic resources management, including, but not limited to database management, assessment of resources, negotiating license agreements, coordinating trials, EZProxy maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring efficient discovery and access to data.
      2. Experience with Ex Libris Alma/Primo VE library system or similar integrated library/discovery management system.
      3. Advanced proficiency in the use of HTML and CSS and experience in creating ADA-compliant web content.
      4. Proficiency in LibGuides creation and management of LibGuides CMS system settings, groups, and accounts.
      5. Experience providing undergraduate reference service.
      6. Experience planning, teaching, and assessing instruction sessions.
      7. Experience with collection development in an academic library.
      8. Experience with program review, service area assessment, and data collection for planning purposes.
      9. Experience with digital repositories and archives and familiarity with best practices for management/organization.
      10. Knowledge of current trends in OER, open education, and open pedagogy.
      11. Demonstrated success in working individually and collaboratively with librarians and paraprofessional staff in all areas of library operations and services, preferably in post-secondary education.
      12. Ability to be responsive, adaptive, and to think critically in analyzing problems and developing resourceful solutions.
      13. Ability to assist patrons from diverse academic, cultural, and socioeconomic populations.
      14. Experience working as a librarian in an academic library.
      15. Experience working as an Electronic Resource librarian in an academic library.
      16. Familiarity with and commitment to the mission and philosophy of community colleges.
