      Summary of Job Duties:

      The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a full-time,100% appointed, 9-month, non-tenure-track instructor position. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching undergraduate courses, primarily in the areas of C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, and software engineering. This position involves active participation in curriculum development, student mentoring, and departmental service.

      This is a teaching-focused position with a 100% instructional workload. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education and contribute to the academic mission of the department. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

      Qualifications:

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education

      • Documented education or experience in the programming languages C++, Java, JavaScript, and Python

      • Documented education in software engineering

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Experience teaching undergraduate courses in C++, Java, JavaScript, and Python with experience in object-oriented programming, client-server programming, event driven programming, and concurrency

      • Experience teaching or working in software engineering environments

      • Documented education or experience in digital computers, logic gates, flip-flops, reduction, finite state machines, sequential logic design, and digital systems

      • Experience using learning management systems and teaching in online or hybrid formats
