Job Description
- Req#: 49769
- Complete fault finding on instrument systems during the breakdown, using knowledge of field instruments, drawings, plant layout, plant processes, and procedures to resolve and prevent further delays
- Recommend appropriate preventative action based on the fault identified and advise of repair work needed to resolve the identified fault
- Repair, install, test, connect, maintain, and modify instrument equipment as required
- Perform all required calibrations according to the standard work instructions and complete calibration sheets
- Converts notifications in SAP to work orders, captures failure codes and repair codes on the notification, and completes the order once work is completed
- Understand and comply with the safety. health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) requirements of the section
- Comply and perform tasks as per the organisation's policies, procedures, and best operating practices
- Participate in investigations of SHEQ incidents on request and help to identify root causes for non-conformance. Correct any deviations that relate to instrument maintenance
- Maintain a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all times
- Adhere to required safety and quality standards and procedures
- Grade 12 with an N3 Engineering coupled with a recognised Instrumentation trade test
- Minimum of 1 years post apprenticeship experience in a heavy industry environment whilst 2-5 years would be preferred

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Instrument Mechanician (Shift) to provide an instrumentation service within the mill in response to breakdowns, safely performing instrument maintenance repair tasks to ensure increased plant availability and minimized downtime.
