Certified Instrument Tech.
Work experience as an Instrument Tech.
Experience fulfilling orders/requests (packing, assembling & stocking items).
Decontaminate (disassemble, clean by hand and/or machine) medical instruments/materials.
Assemble and package, inspect and test instruments, re-assemble sets, place sets in proper containers, and/or wrap and load/transport loaded carts with prepared sets.
Maintain record of loads and items being removed from the department for processing. Transport loads to and from CSS and prepare proper storage of instruments and equipment.
Use and test sterilizing equipment; perform dart and biological tests for autoclaves; perform diagnostic and biological tests for Steris sterilizer.
Record and accurately interpret results of tests; assist OR staff; help locate needed supplies and equipment.
Communicate professionally even when under pressure/fulfilling demanding and/or stressful requests.
Position revolves around serving the Operating Room's (OR’s) sterile instrument and equipment needs.
Must understand the URGENCY of the OR staff’s requests.
Answer directly to the Sterile Processing Supervisor.
Other related duties as assigned.

The instrument tech will be responsible for decontamination, assembling and inspecting, packaging, testing, and sterilizing instruments and/or sets. Summary of Job Duties:
Performs routine testing including biological tests for steam autoclaves, Sterrad, and System 1E. Assist Operating Room (OR) staff with needed supplies and equipment.
