      Position Summary

      Maintain all instruments in the plant. Clean, repair, calibrate and adjust all flow meters, temperature recorders and controllers, electronic and pneumatic. Clean and repair scales in plant, shipping, receiving, baler and lab. Adjust and repair all automatic control valves in plant. Test all safety relief valves in plant according to insurance code. Repair and maintain all service equipment to the laboratory such as: analyzers, spectros, timers and lab testing equipment. Inspect, test and install pressure gauges. Calibrate, install and service all mass flow equipment.

      Responsibilities

      Equipment and Tools

      Hand tools, power tools, soldering irons, chain hoist, and all kinds of testing equipment such as: volt meters.

      Safety Requirements

      Exercise caution to follow all safety rules and regulations while working on any and all equipment assigned to repair or operate.

      Physical Activities

      Must be in good physical condition, capable of climbing, bending, heavy lifting, stooping, carrying, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, standing, turning, and walking. Capable of working in confined areas, heat, cold and inclement weather. Normal hearing and vision required. Also capable of working from heights. Must not be color blind.

      Qualifications

      High school diploma or GED equivalent

      Prefer 5 years relative industrial instrument experience; journeyman level; I&E dual qualifications a plus

      Good communication skills, ability to handle multiple assignments, good troubleshooting skills

      Experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting a plus

      Ability to work 12-hour rotating shift

      On the Job Training

      Computer Based Learning (CBL’s), also off site training is provided when needed depending on job position and requirements.

      Comments

      Must be mechanically and electronically inclined. Must be conscious of his work. Must be able to understand and follow verbal instructions. Must be able to fill out record forms. Should be able to read and understand job safety reviews. Must be responsible for all company issued tools. Should know hand signals for crane. Must be able to keep records on safety valves, gas monitors and records of drier calibration. Know how to read and understand sketches and prints. Must be able to work well with others.

      Minimum Qualifications

      Typically requires a high school degree; or 1-2 year vocational training / associates degree
