      YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

      The Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer is responsible for I&C Engineering for a variety of projects. These could range from small maintenance projects to large multi year programs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

      • Review and/or develop instrumentation and controls engineering, drawings and documents in line with requirements relating to feasibility, standards, codes and K+S Potash Canada’s KSPC) quality specifications.

      • Conduct instrumentation and controls/automation design and analysis for networks, instrumentation, control schemes, interlocks, communications, etc.

      • Cost and Budget Estimating of KSPC's projects in line with this position’s area of technical expertise and/or projects of a defined level of complexity or scope.

      • Ensure the proper deployment, standardization and use of software design and analysis tools.

      • Coordinate and maintain KSPC’s technical data relating to the I&C discipline.

      • In conjunction with peers, maintain, update, and define KSPC’s design specifications and core documents for I&C scope.

      • Ensure quality of I&C engineering and design for internally and externally executed designs.

      • Coordinate with drafting supervision and technical engineers to maintain and modify installations in conjunction with KSPC’s management of change procedures.

      • Provide technical support for KSPC's Plant Control System (ABB 800xA) and all associated networks.

      • Provide technical support for K+S Potash Canada’s auxiliary systems including fire alarm system, access control, and CCTV.

      • Creation and review of Material Take Offs, Capital Cost Estimates, Constructability Plans, and related areas.

      • Review and/or develop engineering, drawings and documents in terms of feasibility, standards, codes, and KSPC's quality specifications.

      • Evaluate new and existing technologies for their applicability to KSPC's Bethune’s Instrumentation & Controls infrastructure.

      YOUR PROFILE

      • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer (B.Sc. with ability to register as EIT or

      P. Eng with APEGS) with 2 – 8 years of experience.
      • Experience with ABB 800xA is preferred.
      • Experience with AVEVA Instrumentation or other database driven design tool preferred.
      • Self motivated with proven leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
      • Strong written and verbal skills in English.
      • Strong meeting facilitation skills.
      • Potash experience is preferred.

      Employment is subject to successfully completing KSPC’s pre-employment checks which may include criminal record check, education verification, functional fitness evaluation and drug and alcohol testing.
