      Requirements:

      A work sample will be given to qualified candidates.

      The scheduled work hours for this position are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

      The starting annual salary for this position is $44,000.04.

      Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid based on a monthly pay cycle.

      This position requires a security background check, including fingerprinting, as a condition of employment.

      Responses to qualifying questions must be clearly supported by the state application and any omission, falsification, or misrepresentation in the answering of the qualifying questions will be cause for immediate elimination from the selection process.

      Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

      • Knowledge of basic principles of property and casualty insurance and risk management, general insurance practices of property and casualty insurers, or general legal practices in a regulatory environment.
      • Knowledge of insurance principals.
      • Knowledge of market practices of insurance companies.
      • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook, and Word.
      • Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing, and analyzing data.
      • Ability to prepare and analyze business and statistical data and draw logical conclusions.
      • Ability to read and interpret statutes, rules, and regulations.
      • Ability to read and interpret financial information.
      • Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
      • Ability to communicate effectively.
      • Ability to operate a personal computer.

      BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      This is a highly responsible professional position that provides technical and administrative support to conduct research or analysis of insurance industry business practices for compliance with Florida Insurance Code standards.

      • Conduct reviews of insurer activities reported to OIR.
      • Perform monthly data upload into workflow management system.
      • Collect and compile data to support the Agency’s regulatory initiatives.
      • Develop and maintain accurate databases.
      • Communicate with regulated entities to clarify and resolve issues.
      • Liaise with DFS Consumer Services and other state agencies as needed.
      • Collect additional evidence related to insurer activities.
      • Identify and monitor negative compliance trends.
      • Conduct analysis of compiled data and provide written conclusions with supporting documentation to substantiate referrals for investigation or examination to management.
      • Respond to compliance inquiries.
      • Responsible for record management of materials related to creating databases for maintenance.
      • Responsible for responding to requests for public records and redaction of confidential or trade secret materials and data.
      • Perform other duties as required.
