What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage collections for overdue insurance account balances and work on aging reports
- Communicate and document denials in the practice management system
- Submit appeals for denied claims and resolve outstanding claim issues
- Respond to billing inquiries from patients via written communication and phone
- Participate in weekly team meetings and complete additional tasks as assigned by management
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma required
- Experience in a physician office or hospital billing position preferred
- Knowledge of billing and collections procedures, including CPT and ICD-10-CM coding
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and goal-oriented mindset
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- College education or trade school background
- Experience with orthopedic claims
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and billing/scheduling applications
- Proven ability to discuss financial responsibilities and establish payment plans
