What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Monitor delinquent accounts and perform collection duties
- Review reports and resolve billing issues while ensuring account balances are current
- Contact patients to secure past due balances and update their information
- Answer patient inquiries regarding payment, billing, and insurance
- Maintain credit balances and ensure timely refunds in accordance with regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum two (2) years of combined medical billing and payment experience required
- Demonstrated knowledge of state, federal, and third-party claims processing required
- Familiarity with state and federal collections guidelines
- Must successfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying the position
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in oncology billing or healthcare-related collections
- Proficiency in medical billing software and systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality practices
