What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Verify and document new patient insurance coverage and coordinate costs for medical supplies
- Re-verify existing patient insurance coverage and communicate order costs to patients and billing
- Contact insurance carriers to request patient prior authorizations
- Communicate insurance eligibility with sales or medical billing operations for patient transactions
- Track daily production and submit logs to the direct supervisor
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED; 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 1-year experience in the medical industry, insurance company, or call center/customer service
- Ability to meet production and quality metrics, including completing insurance verifications within specified timeframes
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting medical supply publications and technical procedures
- Strong communication skills to explain insurance benefits to patients
