      About Our Job

      Denver Public Safety Youth Programs (DPSYP) is seeking a Intake Specialist Program Administrator to support the Runaway Outreach Notification and Intervention (RONI) program and the Denver Anti-Trafficking Alliance High-Risk Youth Multidisciplinary Team Program (DATA MDT). DPSYP serves as the youth delinquency prevention arm of the Denver Department of Public Safety and is responsible for managing programs and partnerships that divert youth away from or out of the juvenile justice system, additionally providing intervention and prevention for high-risk youth of sexual exploitation and human trafficking. This position, to include direct client contact and outreach, data entry, report writing, coordinating support efforts, problem solving, and ability to work independently.

      Intake Specialist(s) will provide initial contact to parent(s)/guardians(s) reporting their youth as a runaway, completing an initial safety assessment, providing an overview of the program, and next steps to our outreach program. Additionally, the Intake Specialist(s) will partner with our Youth Outreach Specialists in creating an outreach plan and entering the runaway report into various databases. Intake Specialists will case manage low-risk cases with the RONII Project. Additionally, Intake Specialist(s) will assist the Denver Police Department’s (DPD) Missing and Exploited Persons Unit and the DATA MDT with follow-up investigations regarding these high-risk missing youth.

      The Intake Specialist Program Administrator will assist the Program Manager with reviewing and assigning the RONI Team’s cases, reports, and follow-up, ensuring the flow of communication between DPSYP and partner organizations, and overall success of the program.

      We are looking for candidates who have previous experience working with law enforcement and/or youth and families, performing coordinated case management services for youth that included outreach to youth/families, screening and assessment, case planning, report writing skills, and willing to work overnight and weekend hours.

      Duties Include but are not limited to:

      • Conducting initial intake phone reports for youth who have runaway, providing an initial safety assessment, and determining next steps.

      • Complete notifications to system involved service provider(s).

      • Completing detailed reports in a law enforcement database documenting runaway incident(s), and follow-up.

      • Case Management for low-risk cases.

      • Assisting Youth Specialists with developing an individual program plan.

      • Assisting Denver Police Department’s Missing and Exploited Persons (MEP) Unit and the Denver Anti-Trafficking Alliance (DATA) Multidisciplinary team (MDT) with follow-up investigations regarding high-risk missing youth.

      • Point of contact for updates on missing youth, providing updates to coordinated service provider(s), coordinating an immediate response with assigned Run Response Youth Specialist.

      • Serves on committees to discuss issues and recommend changes to improve services/facilities for runaway/high-risk youth/clients and coordinates and attends meetings with community-based partners/groups, city personnel, and other governmental agencies for the purpose of youth/client prevention efforts.

      • Maintain client files and records consistent with departmental, local, and state policies, and federal rules and regulations.

      • Complete detailed reports, maintain and update databases regarding the RONI Project, and assist with assigning new cases to Youth Specialists.

      • Provide parent(s)/guardian(s) with guidance, support, and resources throughout the process of locating the missing youth and providing services.

      • Accurately identify, collect, document, and maintain all data related to RONI and DATA HRY MDT.

      • Being a Lead support amongst the Team, assisting with case review and assignment.

      About You

      Our ideal candidate will have:

      • Prior experience supervising a team

      • Prior work experience with combating Human Trafficking

      • Prior experience engaging/mentoring high-risk youth

      • Prior work experience with law enforcement

      • Bilingual (Spanish)

      • Familiarity with commonly used risk/need assessment and treatment assessment tools

      • Understanding of effective interventions and evidence-based practices for working with youth

      • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

      Below are the minimum qualifications used to determine eligibility for this position:

      • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Management, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, or a related field.

      • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional or technical level experience planning the administrative aspects of a program(s) or training program participants and/or volunteers. (Some positions may require experience in a specific program area.)

      • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

      • License/Certifications: By position, requires certification in CPR/First Aid at the time of application or by the completion of probation. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
