- Investigates data enquiries providing assistance and advice as required.
- Analyses complex data and produces internal and external information reports.
- Leads on discrete projects, plus the development and design of health-related data sets and information.
- The post holder will be responsible for the continuous review and improvement of both processes and systems within their working area, whilst also ensuring that data is presented in an easy-to-understand format.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to work collaboratively, manage expectations and build positive relationships with stakeholders
- To ability to work and act independently.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, plus interpretation and manipulation of data to provide meaningful, accurate information.
- Effective time management
- To use supervision positively and effectively
- Understanding of adult and child safeguarding
- Advanced PC skills including the Microsoft office suite (expert skills in MS excel and MS Access)
- Experience of working in a Primary Care setting
- Knowledge of the socio-economic factors in relation to mental health problems
- Knowledge of current pharmacological approaches to treatment in mental health
- Knowledge of the professional developments in field of practice.
- Knowledge of current developments in mental health and social care
- Knowledge and experience of working within an information department
- Experience of using business tools
- Experience of design and developing specialist custom built management information reports and systems
- Ability to demonstrate good understanding of end user needs to enable the translation of requirements into business solutions
- Knowledge within the field of NHS Information, the requirement of commissioning organisation, primary care and statutory bodies
- An understanding of the submission of Mental Health Minimum Datasets and Contracting Datasets
- An advanced knowledge / understanding of data quality issues
- Knowledge and Experience of working with EMIS
- Specialist knowledge of Structured Query Language, advanced knowledge of relational databases and managing large relational database schemes.
- Knowledge and Experience of working within an NHS Provider information department around Mental Heath
- Experience of creating and submitting national mandated datasets
- Experience of assessing the impact of changes to national NHS Information requirement eg Stop the clock guidance
- Educated to degree level or hold similar professional qualifications in an IM&T related subject or equivalent knowledge / experience
- PRINCE2 or a similar project management methodology

Job summary
The post holder will be a member of the Primary Care Mental Health team. In addition, the post will be responsible for developing templates for the extraction of data from GP practices through EMIS, and ensuring clean data is uploaded onto the Mental Health Data Set. This post will also support the Primary Care Mental Health Services Reception.

They will also ensure that data is validated, cleaned, and successfully uploaded to the national Mental Health Data Set in accordance with reporting requirements.
In addition to the data-focused responsibilities, the role will provide support to the Primary Care Mental Health Services Reception, contributing to the smooth running of front-line services and ensuring excellent service user experience.
