- Monitor CAD system and radios
- Generate as much ancillary information as possible about open calls using databases and other resources available
- Monitor local, state, and national activity for incidents of interest that affects the greater Montgomery County region
- Dissect case files and look for analytical links between the case and data found elsewhere
- Search for links between criminal events in Montgomery County and surrounding areas
- Qualified applicants must possess:
- Four (4) year degree from an accredited university - or -
- Four (4) years' experience as a military intelligence analyst - or -
- Four (4) years' experience employed by a law enforcement agency
- Any combination of the above (i.e. 2 years from an accredited university + 2 years of law enforcement agency employment)
- Law enforcement crime analyst experience preferred, but not required
- Prior experience working with CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) software preferred (Spillman or P1 a plus), but not required
- Must have intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office products
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be a U.S. or Naturalized Citizen
- Must possess a current valid Texas driver's license and proof of liability insurance
- No conviction above a Class B Misdemeanor or a Class B Misdemeanor within the last 10 years nor have been on or currently on court-ordered community supervision or probation for any criminal offense
- Must pass all phases of the required testing
- Not currently charged with any criminal offense or under investigation
- No conviction in any court of an offense involving family violence as defined under Chapter 71, Texas Family Code
- Has never received a dishonorable discharge or other discharge based on misconduct which bars future military service
- Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure
- Must possess a willingness to cross-train and accept additional duties as assigned
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally
- Must be able to work overtime during times of high volume
- Must be willing to be on call and work adjusted shifts
- Must have reliable transportation
- Need strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Must be able to lift boxes up to 35lbs
- Must be able to work in a team setting
The Intelligence Analyst will be tasked with gathering, developing, analyzing, preparing, and disseminating actionable intelligence derived from a variety of sources including law enforcement databases, surveillance technologies, intelligence networks, and geographic information systems. The Analyst will further create and provide recurrent analytical work products for active criminal events, ongoing criminal investigations, strategic planning, and administrative purposes.
Testing Information: Applicants must be able to take and pass the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Clerical Testing. All testing is facilitated in the MCSO Recruiting Division Offices at: 1 Criminal Justice Dr., Conroe, Texas, 77301. Test & Type score requirements for this position are:
•Typing: 35 WPM
•Admin: 70%
•Math: 70%
•Word: 70%
•Reading Comprehension: 70%
Shift Hours: Must be able to work assigned shift which may include evenings or nights. Subject to on-call which may include weekends and holidays.
