Job Description

Your Team

As a member of the Calgary Homes team, the Interior Design Intern is responsible to support spec home selections in Alberta. This role provides support in proposing new innovative products to the Studio and Gallery offerings and continuous improvement of the overall purchaser experience.

The role will report to the Studio Manager and will ensure our purchasers expectations are met or exceeded and reflected in clear concise documentation delivered in a timely manner with attention to detail and ultimately the future purchaser’s satisfaction.

Your Key Deliverables

• Spec home selections for Alberta with a primary focus on the Edmonton market

• Support interior design team in developing the regional and community specific palette preferences and adapting to provide a diverse offering

• Understanding the lifestyles and what our customers value in the purchase of their new home

• Processing spec home selections and ensuring all upgrades are documented and charged for accordingly

• Ensure interior selections are processed internally within the established timelines

• To be knowledgeable of all products being offered

• Provide prompt response to all communication requesting information or resolving field issues

• Attend Showhome walkthroughs for installation guidelines and familiarization of showhome product

• Create and develop strong relationships with our trades and suppliers

• Site visits to see final product installed in homeowner and spec homes

• Update and maintain selection packages/forms and ensure they are presented in a professional manner

• Ability to provide sketches as required (tile layouts, etc.)

• Represent the Brookfield Residential Properties brand and culture in a positive manner at all times
  

Must Haves

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary education program; specifically an Interior Design Degree (CIDA credited)

• Extensive product knowledge in latest design trends

• Strong Computer/Microsoft Office Skills

• Ability to sketch renderings or create a visual for homeowner expectation

• Highly organized and detail oriented with great communication skills

• Ability to create and maintain strong relationship with team and trade partners
