      Your Role

      As a Gensler Designer in our Vancouver office, your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. With you as part of the design team, interiors have never been so engaging.

      What You Will Do

      • Acts independently and receives oversight from managerial staff in the form of broad objectives. Highly creative, excellent listener and excellent presentation skills

      • Team builder, great energy and excellent people skills

      • Provides technical direction to less experienced team members

      • Work closely with project management to execute interior design plans for all segments within large and complex projects

      • Responsible for coordination with Project Leads to directly supervise the teams’ design and interiors delivery

      • Ability to work independently on a wide range of large, complex and/or highly specialized projects

      • Demonstrates and shares expertise over advanced techniques, concepts, and methods related to design

      • Works on critical projects with firmwide impact

      • Possesses advanced analytical skills in addition to unique knowledge and expertise

      • Creates networks and may serve as external spokesperson in area of expertise

      • Leads interaction with clients

      • Perform interior design assignments that include programming client needs, conceptual design, space planning, schematic design, design development and construction documentation

      • Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color & material palettes, and lighting

      • Generate finish plans, specifications, and material selections needed for construction

      • Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts

      • Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators

      • Produce test fits

      Your Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited school

      • 5-10 years of post-graduation interior design experience

      • Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, 3D and other modeling software programs

      • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign a must)

      • Strong knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications

      • Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas

      • Experience in workplace interior design

      • Experience with 3D renderings using enscape

      • NCIDQ certification required

      • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices required. Portfolios should include at least 1 project with this particular focus, and candidates should be prepared to talk to this in their interview, especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Passive House, Fitwell and /or Net Zero Building certification.
