Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking an Intermediate Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer with a proven technical and project management track record. Candidates should have the right flare and ability that will help us develop and expand our mining and industrial geotechnics capability by building on the existing portfolio of our rapidly expanding, flexible and outward looking team that can tackle work across a broad spectrum of sectors.

We offer a hybrid work environment, and this position can be based near any of our offices in Western Canada (ideally, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina or Saskatoon).

Your role within the team:

• Execution of complex and major programs.
• Supporting complex proposals.
• Mentoring Junior Staff.
• Acting as a technical reference.
• Growing the group revenue from existing client relationships, developing new business and/or expanding lines of business.
• Embracing behavior-based safety and ensuring all health and safety protocols are followed.

The ideal candidate has:

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or Geology with a post graduate qualification in a geotechnical subject.
• 5 years of proven experience acting in an intermediate role in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
• Experience in one or more of the following sectors: highways, rail, municipal, industrial, mining, commercial or residential geotechnics.
• Eligible for a Professional Engineering License as P.Eng with APEGA.
• Project management – experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets, including relationships with clients, and work planning.
• Proven geotechnical design experience including application of design standards and guidelines in a design and ground investigation environment.
• Proven geohazards and geotechnical investigation experience along with general geotechnical numerical software.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to support the development of teams.
• Must have a valid drivers license with a willingness to travel on short assignments within Saskatchewan and nationwide.
