      Overview

      Stellar Solutions, a nationally recognized "Great Place To Work", has a unique and exciting internship opportunity for a college student. We are seeking a full-time college student, enrolled in Business Accounting with experience in the Accounting/Finance profession and a good academic standing for a year-round internship. The Accounting Intern will be an integral part of the Finance Team and will participate in a variety of AR Functions. We have corporate offices in Los Altos California, Aurora Colorado, and Chantilly Virginia as well as remote work opportunities.

      Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

      The Accounting Intern candidate will directly participate in various Accounts Receivable (AR) functions as determined by the AR Accountants, providing detailed training in the core tasks and assignments being managed independently as a routine. In addition, the AI candidate will be involved in a variety of ad hoc projects in financial analysis and reporting.

      The ideal candidate will be a Sophomore or Junior student and commit to a one-year minimum, two-year maximum internship program. Stellar Solutions reserves the right to conduct a 90-Day probationary period review to complete the 12 to 24 month term.

      The AI is expected to work a minimum of 12 / maximum of 25 hours per week during a full-time class schedule, and a minimum of 32 / maximum of 40 hours during semester breaks. The desired time will be between 8am to 5pm Monday - Friday and adhere to a set weekly schedule with flexibility for exams, periodic travel, and other personal variables.

      Required qualifications:

      • Currently enrolled and active in a Business disipline, majoring in Accounting
      • Completed Freshman year Accounting courses
      • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 throughout the program and provide official transcripts after each semester
      • Intermediate skill level in MS Excel (spreadsheets, pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
      • Knowledgable in MS Office Suite
      • Attention to detail, accuracy, solutions driven, and well organized
      • Highly motivated to learn, grow, and develop key skill sets in accounting
      • Strong communications, capable of articulating well verbally, able to present work product effectively
      • Proven skills in writing (English or Communications course grade)
      • Proven skills in problem solving and basic analytics
      • Works independently in handling, completing assignments
      • Demonstrates and maintains a positive attitude
      • U.S. Citizenship is required

      Core routine assignments include, but are not limited to the following:

      • Expense report review, resolve employee issues related to expense reports
      • Timecard entry / review and approval in customer’s web portals
      • Timecard reconciliation from Unanet via customer’s web portals
      • Submit invoices and expense reports into customer’s web portals
      • Preparing document support for invoicing
      • AR Cash Receipts Assistance

      The internship paid compensation is USD$28.00 per hour. As an incentive, the intern will be invited to participate in a variety of local employee gatherings including the Annual Summer Meeting with travel and accommodations (if necessary) paid for by Stellar Solutions.

      Deliverable(s)

      Additional to the Core routine assignments, you will be asked to provide weekly, quarterly, and end of internship project assessments and reporting of experiences and gaining knowledge.
