      WPG internship program is designed to provide Business professionals with a day-to-day experience of how our business works. During this internship, you will rotate through a variety of teams within our Accounting Department. You will learn about emerging business technologies, time management, and acquire invaluable business skills that will put you on a proven road map for a successful career in business and give you real world experience.

      Through this internship you will gain exposure and understanding of how each department functions and how they contribute to the organization as a whole. Our program will provide you with practical skills through hands-on assignments working with talented professionals who are willing to share their knowledge.

      You will have the opportunity to work in the following areas:

      Lease Accounting:

      Interns will assist in the lease accounting area with projects including maintaining the company’s commercial management system with regards to the new lease abstracts/profiles, opening letters, lease modifications, amendments, renewals, terminations, recovery profiles, and calculates adjustments in accordance with applicable lease provisions.

      Property Accounting:

      Interns will have an opportunity to assist leading and property management in developing their annual budget as well as the ongoing forecast for the calendar year being reported. He/she will perform detailed analysis and provide written explanations of variances between actual results and budgeted results for key income statement accounts as well as current year vs. prior year actual results.

      Financial Accounting:

      Interns will gain general ledger experience with the exposure to prepare month-end journal entries. The intern will assist in performing detailed analysis of corporate G&A expense as compared to forecast, provide explanations and propose resolutions, if necessary. He/she will assist in performing bank reconciliations. The intern will also assist in special ad-hoc reporting, as needed.

      WPG internship program runs during the summer at our corporate office in Columbus, OH. Below are the requirements in order to be considered.

      Qualifications:

      • Currently enrolled at an accredited university or college
      • Majoring in Accounting or Finance
      • Ability to work 40 hours/week during the summer. Must be a rising junior, senior, or graduate student.
