- You have your own reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
- You have a strong work ethic, professional demeanor, you are a critical thinker, and are self-motivated. If you don’t have work to do, you ask for ways you can help, or you brainstorm ways to contribute, big or small. You understand this position will include some administrative duties as needed.
- You’re the type of person who shows up to a meeting on time with a notepad and a pen, ready to take notes so you can succeed at any task.
- You ask questions at appropriate times, or you research subject matter on your own for deeper understanding.
- You’re a strong communicator, you’re personable, and reliable.
- How does the selection process work? First HPI obtains and reviews resumes and cover letters. From there, select candidates are invited to complete an application. Then, select candidates are invited to interview with our team. The process typically begins in January or February and most positions are filled by March or April. Hiring decisions are made based on cover letters, resumes, then the application, then an interview (phone or in-person), and references (if applicable).
- When does the program start and end? The summer program will be between June and August and last between six and eight weeks.
- What are the working hours? Working hours typically range from 20-24 hours per week, typically Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM or 4:00 PM with one hour for lunch (lunch break not included in hours worked). Depending on workload, some interns may work slightly different hours.
- Have Interns ever been hired as full-time employees before? Yes! In the ideal case, our interns benefit as much as we do from the program. HPI is always looking for rising talent and new heavy hitters in our industry. This year we will recognize one intern as the “Intern of the Year” for making the greatest contribution to the organization.
