      Job Description

      The Intern, Aviation Maintenance Technician is a developmental position. The person is directly supervised by, and assists FAA Certificated Aircraft Technicians in servicing, diagnosing, and repairing aircraft and aircraft engines, performing any combination of the following duties.

      Responsibilities

      The selected applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties:

      • Assist Aircraft Technician in servicing and repairing aircraft
      • Preventative maintenance of aircraft
      • Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
      • Receive on the job training to become familiar with basic tasks, methods, procedures, and tools common to the aircraft mechanic trade.
      • Learn to read and use work orders, blueprints, schematics, and repair manuals - Learn to use measuring instruments

      Qualifications

      • Mechanical aptitude
      • Must be dependable
      • Knowledgeable of basic aircraft maintenance
      • Ability to locate and follow maintenance manual directions and component manuals
      • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word

      Core Competencies to be Successful

      • Knowledge of the Federal Administration Regulations and industry standards relating to aircraft maintained.
      • Completed an accredited manufacturers training for aircraft operated by the company.
      • Knowledge of and appropriate training for Evacuation Crewmember duties. E. ADA Physical / Mental / Workplace Requirements
      • Able to frequently bend, twist, lift, and practice safe lifting methods.
      • Primary work environment is within an aircraft, aircraft hangar as well as within an office setting.
      • Sitting, working at desk / personal computer for periods of time.
      • Ability to travel commercially and internationally.

      The salary range for this role is:

      $18.00- $28.50 an hour

      This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
