Interns will also participate as a team in a Day of Caring community service project.

      This is a 10-week summer internship from June 3, 2024, and ending August 9, 2024. Interns will typically work a 5-day workweek at 38.75 hours / week. Interns work with their department supervisor to determine weekly schedules. Interns must commit to the 10-week program for the summer and participate in planned training and activities.

      Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college degree program. Must be able to provide own transportation.

      Internship Position Description:

      As a Data Engineer Intern at MAPFRE, you join with a team developing and maintaining our data infrastructure to support our data-driven initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, implement data pipelines, and ensure the reliability and availability of our data systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a data enthusiast with 0 or more years of experience to contribute to the growth and success of our organization.

      Department-specific responsibilities, project description, deliverables, etc.:

      • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and design efficient data processing solutions.
      • Implement data integration processes from various internal and external sources, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
      • Conduct data quality assessments and implement data governance best practices.
      • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure seamless integration of data infrastructure with existing systems.
      • Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing activities within the team.
      • Promote engagement and a culture of continuous growth and development.
      • Follows departmental and functional area standards, rules, guidelines, processes and policies as identified by management.

      College Level Preferred :

      • Undergraduate (Rising Junior / Senior)

      Majors and/or Coursework Preferred:

      • Data Engineering
      • Computer Science

      Coursework / Skills:

      1. Cloud Technologies
      2. Python
      3. Spark
      4. Data Analysis

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Strong database skills
      • Math aptitude
      • Analytical and problem-solving ability
