Intern, Data Science
Are you a data science enthusiast looking for an opportunity to showcase your skills and contribute to a dynamic team? Look no further! This Internship in Data Science may be just what you've been searching for. You'll have the chance to work onsite with a team of professionals at our National Headquarters building in Fountain Valley, CA, and take part in analytics projects that impact our customers and vehicle data.

Timeframe: June 3, 2024 - August 30, 2024
Must be eligible to work up to 40 hours per week
100% onsite at our National Headquarters building in Fountain Valley, CA. - Seeking local candidates only.

Major Responsibilities:

• Work on analytics projects related to customer and vehicle data
• Pre-process, clean, and analyze large data sets.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis.
• Create new input features and build end to end data pipeline for machine learning models.
• Develop machine learning models using advanced statistical techniques
• Leverage machine learning and natural language processing techniques to mine unstructured data and uncover insights, topic detection, keyword extraction, and sentiment analysis.
• Present data and analysis in a clear and concise manner.
• Respond to emails, calls, in-person inquiries and requests.
• Participate in meetings, capture notes and publish action items, and follow-up on next steps
• Interface with IT
• Escalate issues as needed.
• Other assignments and administrative tasks as needed.=

Related Experience:

• 1+ years of experience building ML models
• 1+ years of experience with data querying skills using SQL. Able to aggregate, gather and manipulate data.
• 1+ years of experience with Python
• 1+ years of experience with Hadoop a plus

Skill / Knowledge:

• Excellent Microsoft Power point presentation development skills
• Experience in Tableau and/or Alteryx a plus
• Sharp analytical, technical, and mathematical / statistical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Works well independently with little to moderate direction and in a team environment
• Positive and proactive attitude
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Works effectively in a dynamic environment

Compensation:

$25/hr
