We will be filling an Intern - Design Engineering roles for Summer 2024 at our West Palm Beach, FL location.
Summer internships will start in approximately May/June and end in August/September.
Our West Palm Beach, FL facility is home to the family of RL10 Upper-Stage Rocket Engines that have propelled missions to every planet in the solar system! This site is also the Hypersonics center of excellence which built the scramjet engine that powered the record-setting X-51A Waverider.
Projects may include supporting design areas such as mechanical design and CAD modeling.
Tasks will likely involve assisting with the development of engineering designs that are used on solid rocket motor and liquid rocket engine applications, including conceptual design support, part selection research, computer aided design (CAD) and technical presentation support. Potential for hands-on experience with engineering hardware integration and test exposure, and computer aided design software tools used to create 3D models.
Candidate must be currently enrolled in a B.S. or M.S. degree program in Mechanical Engineering (or similar major), and returning to school upon completion of the assignment.
Preferred Requirements
3.2 GPA or above
Junior standing or above
Solid academic track record of accomplishment
Leadership & teamwork skills
Hands-on mechanical experience
Experience with CAD software tools
