      Position Overview

      About the Team

The Ecommerce Machine Learning Team is a group of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and experimentation experts with diverse backgrounds and degrees, all working to create data-driven experiences that enhance our customers’ buying journey.

We design smarter digital experiences, strengthen our platforms, and make sales and marketing efforts more efficient and connected. While product experience is central, the true unlock comes from the technologies we build — powering deeper customer insights, more personalized engagement, and faster sales cycles.

      About the Role

As an Ecommerce Machine Learning Intern, you’ll work hands-on with the development and training of cutting-edge machine learning models and algorithms. Your work will help us leverage user behavior and industry trends to deliver highly personalized recommendations — at just the right moment.

In this role, you’ll wear both the data scientist and software engineer hats. You’ll not only design and experiment with models but also build and deploy them into real-world systems. Unlike companies that separate research from engineering, our machine learning engineers own projects end to end — from ideation and experimentation to production implementation.

      Responsibilities

      • Work closely with a dedicated mentor to navigate our tech stack, define your project scope, and explore Autodesk’s culture and ecosystem

      • Collaborate with the team through meetings and syncs to align on independent and shared machine learning initiatives

      • Design, build, and experiment with software — exploring new technologies , gaining insights, and sharing your findings with the team

      • Research cutting-edge advancements by reviewing academic papers and analyzing competitive software to inform your work

      • Tell the story behind the data — translate insights from machine learning models into clear, actionable recommendations

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Currently enrolled full-time in a PhD program with an expected graduation date in 2026 or 2027

      • Academic focus in Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning or a closely related field

      • Hands-on experience with Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow

      • Proven ability to collaborate across teams and thrive in dynamic, cross-functional environments

      • Strong project management and communication skills

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Exposure to e-commerce recommender systems and personalization technologies

      • Experience applying Reinforcement Learning techniques within recommender systems

      • Knowledge of the manufacturing and design or architecture and construction industries

      Technologies We Use:

      • AWS Sagemaker , Flink, Raylab , ComitML
