- Determines conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations.
- Perform analytical/functional testing of rubber compounds and products.
- Utilizes industrial automation equipment to support prototype developments.
- Evaluates findings to develop new concepts, products, equipment or processes, or to develop applications of findings for customers.
- Analyzes and interprets test data to prepare technical reports for use by engineering or management for planning and marketing personnel in sales and technical services activities.
- Assists in developing new elastomeric compounds in all polymer families for various applications.
- Reviews drawings/prints to ensure clarity, completeness, form, fit, function and conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.
- Supports R&D process trials, mixing and molding operations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities.
- Communicates with suppliers of material, components, molds, equipment, etc.

Job Description
Materials Engineering research and development Co-Op for elastomeric (rubber) compounds (minor focus on plastics, metals, composites, etc.) for components/systems of various scope and complexity used as seals, diaphragms, isolators, boots, etc. in various markets with a concentration on automotive, renewable energy, and aerospace. Understanding of analytical techniques is desired to conduct physical tests on elastomers.
Candidates should be Engineering Students undergraduate or graduate. Business Degree should be in in Engineering, Chemical Engineering preferred.
This paid Co-Op assignment will be from May 2024-August 2025.
