      The Position

      Lumos’ 2024 Internship Program is offering an exciting Finance and Business Intelligence Intern position supported by our Manger of Business Intelligence – helping measure the impact of our sales and marketing strategies.

      Duties & Responsibilities

      • Intern project to inform sales and marketing strategies.
        • Quantitative research and analysis of sales and marketing tactic effectiveness (to be determined).
        • Create a final internship project or presentation.
        • As needed, speak/present on the internship experience to internal groups.
      • Support Business Intelligence and Finance groups
        • Support regular reporting on sales and marketing effectiveness.
        • Validation and quality control of marketing and sales data.
        • Support implementation of audience clustering and propensity modelling
        • Assist with slide creation and note taking for regular business intelligence meetings.
        • Monitor key competitors, including pricing, product positioning, and relevant news.
        • Assist other finance teams as needed.

      Qualifications

      • Education:
        • Open to students who have completed their freshman year and are actively pursuing a degree at an accredited institution.
        • Duration of the program will be for 10 weeks following the end of the spring semester.
      • Core Hours: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm with flexibility available
      • Location: Hybrid internship, with an expectation to be in the High Point office 2-3 days a week or more
      • Valid Driver’s License: travel to worksites or corporate offices may be necessary.
      • Key Competencies:
        • Adherence to regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
        • Professional demeanor and behavior suitable to a workplace environment.
        • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Excel and the ability to quickly learn new skills.
        • Knowledge of machine learning (e.g., audience clustering and propensity analysis) a plus
        • Strong passion for broadband and digital equity.
        • Attention to detail.
        • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to keep track of multiple projects at once.
