ABOUT THE TEAM

Fundamental Equity Strategies (FES), a part of PSP’s Capital Markets group , is responsible for internal active management of global, emerging market, and long/short public equities portfolios, and is comprised of portfolio managers and a global equity research team.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

As an Intern, Fundamental Research Platform , you’ ll :

Conduct sector & stock analysis as directed by the Senior Director:

• Perform thematic research or a sub-sector review

• Perform analysis on selected stocks

• Build tools to support the team research efforts (screens, quant tools)

Assist the Senior Directors in:

• Building financial and valuation models on companies and sectors of interest

• Developing investment theses and presenting recommendations tailored to each equity strategy

Gain broad exposure through cross-sector mandate:

• Assigned to projects in rotation through sector teams

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Commerce – Finance option; or

• Currently enrolled in a master’s or MBA program, concentration in Finance or other related fields

• High academic achievement

• Superior level of proficiency with business software and analytical tools, including strong Excel skills and at least moderate knowledge of Bloomberg

• Demonstrate initiative and curiosity to look beyond surface facts to provide comprehensive, value added research

• Ability to work autonomously on specific assignments while being cognizant of the need to involve senior team members

• Strong interpersonal and communication (spoken and written) skills to present findings and recommendations

• Enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Fluency in English, French is considered an asset

• Must return to studies after the internship or the internship must be part of your curriculum
