- Performs assigned tasks and/or projects related to the area-specific internship
- Maintains effective communication with internal and external stakeholder via email, phone and in-person meetings
- Contributes to team initiatives and goals
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
- Collaborates with healthcare professionals across various departments to support daily operations and projects
- Participates in training sessions, workshops, and team meetings to enhance healthcare knowledge
- Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct
- Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Performs other duties as assigned
Overview
Working under the direction of the injury prevention manager, the intern will work on at least one project or initiative with the Trauma team related to the Future Healer’s program. This role will allow the intern to better understand health care operations and organizational practices in an academic health system and will introduce them to some of the the laws and regulations related to the healthcare industry and healthcare governance. Projects may be assigned according to the intern's interests and skills and health system need.

Qualifications
Education:
· High school diploma or GED/ equivalent (required)
o Individuals between the ages of 16 and 18 may be employed on a temporary basis in positions not prohibited and for hours not to exceed those prescribed by the Department of Labor and the Commonwealth of Kentucky and who are on the path to earning a high school diploma or GED (see Employment of Minors policy)
Experience:
· Previous involvement with the Future Healer’s program (strongly preferred)
Certification
· None required
