Job Description
- Req#: 22626
- Support operations of the Brito Food Program, ensuring that donated food is organized and available for patient selection.
- Provide screening and education to reach communities and consumers as part of the Center’s cardiometabolic wellness programming.
- Attend Center for Health Equity team meetings.
- Participate in professional development and educational opportunities related to health equity, health disparities and community health.
- Any other duties as assigned by Assistant Director, Healthy Communities
- 3.0 GPA or higher and a junior, senior, or graduate student.
- Dietary, Food & Nutrition, or Public Health Major.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Customer service skills/experience.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office software.
Overview
Reporting to Assistant Director, Healthy Communities, the individual will be responsible for providing support to both internal programing (Brito Food Program) and community-based programming (CATCH 5 in 5). Theses programs are part of the Center’s efforts to improve community health with a focus on specific health disparities and communities that have been historically underserved by the medical community. In this role the intern will work with our Healthy Communities Team.
This internship position is a time-limited, temporary position with a start date of June 3rd, 2024. The total number of hours that an intern can work during this timeframe is 250 hours.
Interns hired for the summer cohort will be enrolled in Campus Greensboro’s Summer Fellows Program. This is an in person, professional development training program sponsored by Cone Health. Some hours of program participation will be paid.
