- Work with the Manager Selection team and the Portfolio Construction team to complete a comprehensive diligence process and prepare investment memos.
- Assist in the preparation of investment performance reports and investment fund information for the Investment Committee, Trustees, and other external constituents and/or audiences.
- Prepare for and attend meetings with investment partners.
- Document meeting notes and complete follow up assignments as required.
- Conduct ad hoc studies and projects.
- Assist in the preparation of position papers for the Investment Committee on various asset classes, investment strategies, investment managers, and the long-term performance of the portfolio.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- Advancement toward a Bachelor's degree with no more than 2 years until anticipated graduation date and strong academic credentials in applicable fields (i.e. Math, Finance, Economics or other related fields).
- Outstanding research, analytical and intellectual capabilities; the ability to integrate quantitative and qualitative analyses.
- A broad understanding of economics, portfolio theory, asset allocation, and portfolio construction.
- Comfort with Excel and Google Workspace.
- Self-starter who is highly motivated and independent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player who will build relationships and gain the confidence of their colleagues.
- Highest level of integrity, honesty, loyalty and commitment.
- Superior attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg or FactSet is a plus.

The Investment Office Intern, under the supervision of the Investment Director(s) and working closely with the SVP, Chief Investment Officer as well as other team members, will complete a series of approximately 4-6 projects specific to the Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) portfolios. Projects will include research, diligence, monitoring and analysis for both current and prospective investment opportunities. A capstone project will be completed and presented to members of the investment office at the conclusion of the internship. This internship is designed to provide broad exposure to many aspects of institutional asset allocation and risk considerations unique to non-profit healthcare organizations. As a startup office, will work directly with senior team members and will be exposed to a variety of strategic and operational initiatives. This role is hybrid and is expected to be in the office two (2) days per week along with other team members.
