      ABOUT THE TEAM

      The Legal Affairs team consists of highly experienced and passionate professionals that work with the asset classes’ to enable PSP’s investment activities while managing legal risks. Given this role, Legal Affairs has a unique and global view of PSP’s activities. The Legal Affairs team has tremendous exposure to high-quality global transactions and complex legal questions, while being supported by an international network of trusted external counsel and partners.

      ABOUT YOUR ROLE

      As an Intern, Legal Affairs, you’ll:

      • Assist one or more lawyers in the team with their work related to investment transactions for Capital Markets, Private Equity, Infrastructure, Real Estate, Natural Resources and Credit Investments

      • Perform legal work related to PSP’s regulatory and governance framework

      • Perform legal work related to corporate law and PSP’s various investment vehicles

      • Update databases related to various agreements to which PSP is a party

      • Research on various legal and regulatory topics related to PSP`s investments

      • Assist lawyers and other team members with non-investment initiatives and projects

      WHAT YOU’LL NEED

      • First year student registered in an undergraduate law program

      • Complementary education in finance or related field, an asset

      • Good academic achievement and interest in business law

      • Good level of proficiency with MS Office tools

      • Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy

      • Ability to complete mandates and tasks within the planned schedule

      • Effective communications skills, both written and spoken

      • Attention to detail and rigorous approach to research, analysis and documentation

      • Drive to pursue excellence and challenge the status quo to seek out alternative perspectives

      • Be proactive in reaching out to lawyers and other team members to assist with mandates, files or projects

      • Good social skills and ability to build a network within the team and the organization

      • Willingness and interest in understanding PSP`s mandate, activities and investments.

      • Bilingualism: English and French (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)

      • Must return to studies after the internship or the internship must be part of your curriculum

      • Candidates must have the right to work in Canada* for the period specified to be considered for this position. No support to obtain the right to work will be provided.

      *Options include Canadian citizenship, permanent residency or a valid open work permit.
