      Compensation

      • $16 - $22 dependent upon the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications

      Position Overview : Join a dynamic Legal Department and get the chance to gain experience in a wide range of areas of the law, including litigation, labor/employment, contracts, compliance, regulatory, corporate, intellectual property and transactional.


      Responsibilities

      • Provide support in Leviton’s claims and lawsuits, including: legal research, reviewing pleadings and motions, assisting in responding to written discovery requests, reviewing and summarizing deposition transcripts, summarizing discovery responses of other parties, and updating our Case Management System with relevant information
      • Review and assist in preparation of corporate contracts
      • Assist in compliance efforts by researching relevant laws and regulations and reviewing corporate policies and contracts to ensure compliance
      • Attend a deposition with a Leviton attorney
      • Assist Sr. Associate General Counsel with preparing corporate representatives for deposition
      • Set up files in Claims Management System and calendar important deadlines
      • Draft memoranda, correspondence and other legal documents
      • Possible due diligence functions in connection with acquisitions
      • Research various intellectual property issues
      • Assist in file and document organization

      Qualifications

      • Must be proficient in Westlaw or Lexis and Word, strong writing skills; journal experience strongly preferred. Writing sample may be required.

      Education & Experience

      • Must be currently enrolled in a Juris Doctorate program and have completed one year of law school; top half of law school class strongly preferred
