Supporting the development and execution of internal communications initiatives, including town halls, intranet content updates, and culture-building activities at Moderna’s Toronto and Laval sites.
Assisting in content creation for employee engagement programs, such as Volunteer Week and Lunch & Learn sessions.
Contributing to external communications efforts, including media monitoring, drafting social media content, and supporting leadership in thought leadership initiatives.
Shadowing and supporting media relations activities, including preparing briefing materials, drafting press releases, and participating in agency meetings.
Assisting in organizing and maintaining internal communications resources, such as digital assets, media lists, and content repositories.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute communication strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
Assisting with other duties, as assigned.
We obsess over learning – As part of the communications team, you’ll be immersed in real-world corporate communications, learning how to develop compelling narratives, engage stakeholders, and refine messaging strategies in a fast-paced biotech environment .
We behave like owners – You’ll take initiative in contributing to communication strategies and projects, demonstrating accountability for your work and its impact on internal and external stakeholders .
Current enrollment in 3rd or 4th year of an undergraduate program, or in a graduate certificate or Master’s program related to Media and Communications, Public Relations, or a closely related field.
This position is site-based, requiring you to be at Moderna’s site full-time. This position is not eligible for remote work.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content tailored for different audiences.
Proactive, self-starter mindset with the proven ability to learn quickly, work independently and take ownership of tasks.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in communication materials and project execution.
Enthusiasm for media strategy and digital communication trends, with hands-on experience managing content creation a plus.
Interest in corporate communications within the healthcare sector, with a desire to learn about the healthcare industry and Moderna’s innovative mRNA technology.
Experience collaborating in team environments, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with digital tools and platforms, including Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint), collaboration tools (Teams); experience managing social channels and intranet systems a plus
Fluency in French a plus

As a Media and Communications Intern, you will work closely with Moderna’s Canadian Communications team and strategic partners to support initiatives that enhance Moderna’s corporate reputation, engage key stakeholders, and build trust around mRNA medicines. This role offers hands-on exposure to communications in a dynamic and innovative environment, fostering professional growth.
This 12-14 week full-time internship (40 hours per week) will begin in May 2025 and will be based in Moderna’s Toronto office, with an expectation of at least 70% in-office work.
