      Looking for a bright and energetic intern to become part of the execution team consisting of Packaging Engineers and Artists to complete varied engineering and design projects that are key initiatives for the Leviton organization. These projects will provide an enriching experience with opportunities to improve skillset and business acumen through exposure to cross functional teams, suppliers, and customers.


      Responsibilities

      • Support packaging engineers in the creation of SolidWorks drawings compliant to GD&T
      • Support graphic artists in the layout of artwork and illustrations, including use of SW Composer
      • Project Workflow Software – Aid in developing user and configuration manuals for new software to manage packaging projects, art validation, schedules, and resources
      • Packaging Process Improvements – Participate in finalizing packaging consolidation projects as well as updating packaging standards, requirements and documentation
      • Sustainability - Researching and implementing new sustainable packaging materials and elimination of plastics
      • Technology Improvements – Support of Oracle ERP system enhancements and functionality
      • Assist in creation of all relevant training materials, including presentations, project plans, charts, and reports
      • Assist in the maintenance of asset libraries

      Qualifications

      • Working knowledge of SolidWorks.
      • SolidWorks Composer, Adobe Illustrator, and InDesign knowledge a plus.
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
      • Must have excellent communication skills (written, verbal)
      • Must be creative, resourceful, able to think independently, be attentive to detail and consistency, and be highly organized.

      Education & Experience

      • Must be a student currently enrolled in a university working towards obtaining a bachelor’s degree.
      • Desired Majors include Packaging Engineering/Technology/Science, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Design or related degree.
