Our program provides a paid internship opportunity starting at $20.00 per hour, along with a hybrid work schedule that offers the best of both worlds. You will work in the office for four days a week, collaborate with your team, and grow your skills. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work from home, one day a week. Our program runs from June 5th, 2024, to August 9th, 2024, and we expect our interns to commit to the entire program duration.

As a Product Design Intern, you will have the exciting opportunity to work closely with our dynamic Product Design Team to contribute to the development of Squishmallow plush toys. Our Summer Internship Experience provides hands-on experience in a collaborative and creative environment, offering exposure to the end-to-end process of bringing toys from concept to market.

What you will do:

• Collaborate with the design team to brainstorm and contribute to the creation of innovative toy concepts that align with market trends and consumer preferences.
• Utilize your artistic skills to create sketches and digital renderings of toy concepts, ensuring they are visually appealing and meet the design specifications.
• Gain hands-on experience in creating 3D models of toy designs using industry-standard software, ensuring accuracy and feasibility for mass production.
• Engage in cross-functional collaboration with other departments, including Brand, Packaging, Scheduling, and Product Development to ensure seamless communication and alignment throughout the product development process.
• Contribute to the creation and updating of detailed Product Design Specifications for manufacturing, ensuring clear communication of design intent and requirements to the production team.
• Participate in the review process of physical samples and sculptures, providing feedback on design elements, functionality, and overall quality.
• Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to contribute valuable insights to the design team.

What we are looking for:

• Currently, enrolled college student who has completed at least one year of school at an accredited university or college in Product Design, Industrial Design, Toy Design, or related field.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office & G-Suite.
• Strong artistic and conceptualization skills with the ability to bring ideas and characters to life through sketches and digital renderings.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator)
• Proficient in 3D modeling software (e.g., Rhino, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Experience or interest in character design.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
• Passion for toy design and a keen interest in child development through play.
• Must be able to clear a background check.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
