- Embrace duties and assignments as determined by their department director or the individual assigned to directly supervise them.
- Execute responsibilities as assigned, in an efficient and timely manner.
- Assist buyers with follow-up on Purchase Orders.
- Help expedite parts when needed.
- Work on special projects when requested and provide status updates frequently.
- Help organize and send out RFQ’s to supply base.
- Send out RFI’s when requested to gather information.Attend weekly open PO meetings and provide status on Purchase Orders.
- Shadow the Purchasing Specialists as well as the Buyer to be able to cover if another team member is out of the office.
- Learn the Purchasing systems such as: SAP, SRM, EBP and Microsoft tools.
- Work closely with the Logistics teams to understand how our jobs effect each other.
- Fill in whenever and however necessary to help the team be successful.
- Working towards a degree in one of the following: Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics.
- High School Diploma required.
- Desire to learn.
- Willingness to start ‘at the bottom’ to learn processes and functions of the department they are assigned too.
- Self Motivated.
- Team Player.
- Strong communication skills; written & verbal.
- Proactive; including the ability to ask questions and seek help when required.

The AVL North America purchasing/logistics department in Plymouth, MI is searching for an intern to join the team this summer. AVL is searching for motivated candidates seeking a productive learning experience that promotes growth in a productive environment. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, critical thinkers with excellent time-management skills.In this opportunity, individuals will take on project-based work, support the purchasing team as required, and receive training in internal systems, in addition to expanding knowledge and usage of SAP. The projected timeline of this internship is May through August. Initial training for this role will be in-person over the first few weeks in Plymouth, MI, and will then transition into a Hybrid schedule for the remainder of the summer. Working hours are estimated to be 5 days per week from 8 am EST to 5 pm EST.
This is a great opportunity to grow your skill set and network in Purchasing/Logistics with a mobility company.
