- Participate and contribute to team, unit and foundation-wide meetings as needed
- Learn about the intersection of research and philanthropic sectors, including grant making and budget processes, and their role within a larger ecosystem of institutions that impact young people, families and communities
- Gain an understanding of equitable research and evaluation practices and community-engaged methods, and how researchers and other partners can use an equity lens to inform their work
- Collaborate with staff and grantees to build capacity for using data, evaluating progress and designing studies to measure effectiveness
- Collaborate with consultants on place-based initiatives to enhance data efforts related to juvenile justice youth diversion and prevention
- Assist with developing a youth prevention framework to guide Foundation strategies and investments
- Develop a resource library on gun violence and gun violence prevention
- Consult with staff on strategies for supporting and empowering youth across domains such as education and workforce development
- Support planning and execution of Foundation and grantee events
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned

The Annie E. Casey Foundation is offering a summer internship to work with its Research and Evaluation unit. This paid internship is designed to provide qualified, diverse college candidates with engaging, challenging project-based assignments, cross-team exposure and learning opportunities. This role will center on the application of research and evaluation tools within philanthropy, particularly relating to strategies aiming to support young people’s well-being and prevent contact with the justice system.
This is a hybrid internship that will run from June 3 to August 16, 2024. The role will report to a senior research associate in Research, Evaluation, Evidence and Data.
