      Summary:

      Barcelona Dolby's office in Barcelona has strong audio Research and Development teams, specialized in spatial audio, AI and signal processing for professional and consumer applications. As an intern, you will join the Research team to research and develop innovative solutions for low resource DNNs based on learnable wavelet frontends.

      Responsibilities:

      • Get familiar with wavelet construction via the liftng scheme.
      • Study wavelet task-specificity with simple deep learning models.
      • Explore encoder/decoder deep learning frontends where wavelet parameters are optimized jointly with the task.
      • Explore encoder/decoder scenarios where wavelet parameters are generated, e.g. through hypernetworks.
      • Reproducing and extending existing research by building/adapting and training suitable neural networks.
      • Perform subjective/objective evaluations and compare with the state-of-the-art.
      • Communicate research progress and document code and results.
      • Write technical reports and/or research papers.

      Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or similar.
      • Knowledge of Machine/Deep learning.
      • Knowledge of PyTorch/Tensorflow.

      Eligibility:

      • Enrolled in a Master or PhD program on related subjects for the entire duration of the internship (January to March 2024).
      • Available to work at the Barcelona office, at least part-time.

      Desired skills:

      • Knowledge of signal processing, linear algebra, calculus, and statistics.
      • Python programming skills.
      • Good communication skills
      • Experience in research.
      • Critical listening skills.
